Last year, a homeless man with a pack of dogs was scraping my front door at 4 in the morning.
I had no idea if he had a gun or something, so I called police and nothing happened for 30 minutes. Hobo wondered around trying other peoples' doors. It was a minor miracle nobody blew his fucking head off. I called the cops again, same response. No one showed up until after 7 AM.
When seconds matter, the police are hours away.
That solidified my decision to become a gun owner.
