Wasn't so much of a tragedy though, apparently nobody got killed and only 25 were injured:
During some kond of a tractor show in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, India, the roof of a stadium cave in under the load of hundreds of people who used it as a pedestal from where to watch the show. The roof was about as overcrowded as your typical Indian train.
According to the local reports, at least 25 people were injured in the collapse, with there being no reported fatalities. They must have served as a padding for each other.
In my part of Maine our roofs have to be designed for 60 pounds per square foot snow load. India, however, measures roof load in peasants per square foot.
