In the animal class Arachnida, there are several lower level divisions called Orders. Scorpions are in the Order Scorpiones, spiders are in the Order Araneae, ticks and mites are in the Order Acari. opiilinidThe creatures most correctly called daddy-longlegs are in their own separate Order which is Opiliones. Common names for this Order are 1) daddy-longlegs, 2) harvestmen and 3) opilionids.
Harvestmen are arachnids, but they are not spiders -- in the same way that butterflies are insects, but they are not beetles. Harvestmen have one body section (spiders have two), two eyes on a little bump (most spiders have eight), a segmented abdomen (unsegmented in spiders), no silk, no venom, a totally different respiratory system, and many other differences; not all have long legs.

Upon closer inspection of your pic it is a indeed a spider,it has TWO body parts as a cellar spider does. On that I stand corrected. However you were incorrect in the fact that it's a daddy longleg. But it is cellar spider which is NOT a daddy longleg. As I commented above the daddy longleg has only one body part and is of the Opiliones order. I was an entomologist at one point and took entomology courses in college, and worked in pest control in my early twenties.
