The server doesn't even exist. The server is a pool of virtual machines that is restarted and debugged weekly. Well basically, if you're in the UK or Australia, or some shitty 3rd-tier state like Indiana, your connection is less important to the server
The point is, there have been about 20,000 "top level" comment, and 40,000 replies. 60,000 total.
It CAN take awhile after you hit save. It's generating an image based on your thumbnail selection, saving it to a file server, and propagating it to the CDN. If your video resolution is super high or your connection is shitty, it can stall...

When MZ started, I indexed (no Barret, different kind of Index) the ID of Parent Comments and Child Comments so that Child Comments started a couple thousand higher. I knew that replies were much more common and top-level comments would never catch up... so I could track them separately knowing there would never be duplicate IDs on a page.
Selecting a thumbnail isn't even... it doesn't use internet.
It selects the frame on your video and applies it to an HTML canvas. It's 100% client side.

So I know THJ is allegedly the Piss Jug King... but I use those 1-gallon Arrowhead jugs (I guess he does too) but in mass. The most jugs I ever had in my room was about 30. Most of them filled a good amount. I dumped them all in my back yard one day. I probably dumped 20 gallons of piss.
