I figure they have already been beaten into submission several times, and are resigned to die already. Of course panicking in the last moment anyway.
They're already tied up and facing multiple psychoes, fighting back is only going to make their death more brutal.
You ever see one of those animal vids where they are being very slowly swallowed by a snake or something? They stop fighting so early and resign to their deaths. Must be a deep instinct in us.
